Three different processings applied to a timelapse of the Milky Way rising over the horizon while my telescope is capturing shots of M101, the Whirlpool Galaxy.

In the video you can see:

  • The original images, as they come out of the camera.
  • Images slightly processed to improve the clarity of the shadow areas and some white balance to make the color of the sky cooler.
  • Images with an aggressive processing in which I have taken to the limit the exposure, contrast, saturation and white balance to, above all, get more contrast in the Milky Way.

All the processing has been done with Darktable from the CR2 files of my Canon 1300D and the video encoding with ffmpeg.
